ITD - PHOTO FOR RI SHOWOn this episode of Inside The Dugout, Kevin and Rich begin by answering a listener’s question from Twitter, “What does depth on a pitch mean?”

They take a long look at the recent struggles of the Mets’ Matt Harvey and some numbers that show a trend of why his swing and miss stuff just isn’t there right now. They talk about the “World Series hangover” and why the extra month of throwing can have an effect on the next season. They go on to share a story about one of the first men to bring a computer into the clubhouse to look at stats. Want to guess who it was?

We also talk about Josh Reddick of the Oakland A’s injuring his hand sliding into second and why Vin Scully doesn’t like that play. Skipper goes in depth on the lost art of sliding and how it was once taught.

Finally, we take a look at the big series between the 1st place Cubs and the 1st place Giants in San Francisco plus we have a bonus story of the legendary Bo Belinsky and staying out past your bedtime.
