Your Mom was right!!!!! You are what you eat and there is no escaping poor nutrition no matter what you do!

Today, we talk with Brian St Pierre of Precision Nutrition and look at the Precision approach to performance eating for sport, business, school life in general.

When it comes to performance, we build all of our programs around rest and recovery. It’s the measure for the amount of work we are able to get done over a period of time. Inside of our R&R programs….Sleep is King!

Then, you have nutrition. Again, there is no escaping poor nutrition. It affects everything you do and the implication in the area of health and wellness is a big issue!

What if I told you that diet and weight related diseases have taken over from smoking as the number one preventable causes of death? With about 2/3 of the population dealing with weight management issues, you would think we’d have it all figured out but it’s not for lack of effort.

It was recently shown that of people with significant weight issues, 60% have tried to lose weight more than six times and of those who have tried more than six times, 34% have tried 20 or more times and 66% have lost count.

The fact is….. according to Dr. Freedhoff, 90% of all diets fail. DIETS DON’T WORK!!!!! That info is very concerning when you consider that the North American weight loss industry generates over $60 billion dollars per year.

So what can you do?

First, exercise regularly. It’s a critical component for over all health but when it comes to making a difference in your weight, exercise is a distant second to diet choices.

Exercise can only influence 20% of your over all modifiable weight where your diet and daily diet choices influence the other 80%.

Second, eat right!
