Today on Krush Performance, we continue to battle and fight the good fight with a MUST listen “War on Sugar” episode of Krush Performance!

Is the sugar in your diet Killing you? Based on recent research it does not look good and SUGAR is a major culprit!!

High SUGAR diets are bad – Sounds like common sense BUT where is the sense in this:

• Increased risk of certain cancers
• Increased risk if degenerative brain diseases
• Obesity
• Diabetes
• And for Athletes reduced Sport Performance & Recovery
• And there’s much much more

Cost to Health Care – could the strain of obesity and diabetes alone destroy every health care system on the planet? According to a major new series in the Lancet, one of the world’s top medical journals, the unprecedented obesity rates are a “time bomb” of future burdens on health care systems but global efforts to reverse the epidemic are failing.

To give you some Perspective on Sugar Consumption:

A historical report on sugar consumption found the following:

• In 1822, the average American ate the amount of sugar found in one of today’s 12-ounce sodas every 5 days.
• Now, we eat that much every 7 hours.
• In 1822, we consumed 6.3 pounds per person per year
• Today, some reports estimate that we are consuming as much as 150lbs/yr

Today, to help us navigate and put together our battle plan in our “War on Sugar.” we are joined by Krush favorite:

Dr. Ann de Wees Allen: Chief Bio-Medical Officer for the Glycemic Research Institute in Washington DC
