Who are Kevin Kennedy and Rich Herrera?
Kevin Kennedy
Kevin Kennedy is a household name in baseball. Kevin was an 8th round draft pick of the Baltimore Orioles after attending San Diego State. The Southern California native grew up in Woodland Hills, where he was a high school teammate of Robin Yount.
After playing in the Baltimore and Dodger system, Kennedy began his managerial career with the Dodgers in working his way up to Triple A in 1991. He made his debut in the Big Leagues as the bench coach of the Montreal Expos in 1992.
He took over the reigns of the Texas Rangers in 1993 managing the ball club through the 1994 season. His club included Jose Canseco and Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan. His boss at the Rangers was pretty famous as well, and he went on to become the 43rd president of the United States, George W Bush.
In 1995, Kevin led the Red Sox to their first post season appearance in five years.
A natural on camera and behind the mic, Kennedy joined ESPN in 1997 as a color commentator on Wednesday Night Baseball and ESPN Radio’s Sunday Night Baseball broadcast. In 1998, he went to work at Fox Sports working games on the network and eventually as the studio analyst for the Fox MLB Pregame Show.
He has been a constant presence on Sirius XM’s MLB Network Radio as one the lead analysts on the only radio channel dedicated to baseball 24 hours a day.
In 2009, Kevin worked games as the lead analyst on Sun Sports for the Tampa Bay Rays broadcasts.
Since then, Kevin has hosted Dodger Talk before every Dodger game until this year, where he will return to the booth working with Rick Monday for a select schedule of game for the 2016 season.
Rich Herrera
Rich Herrera is a sports talk show host based in Florida. Rich can be heard regularly on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM as well as weekends on 790 The Ticket in Miami, plus Yahoo Sports Radio across the county and is a regular fill in on CBS Radio’s KMOX Radio in St Louis.
Rich has hosted pre and post game shows for the San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics, and Tampa Bay Rays. He has also serves as a national sideline reporter for Sports USA Media’s NFL and NCAA football broadcasts.
Rich is the national pool reporter for Bellator MMA, covering their major tent pole events, filing reports across the country and providing call ins from fight week, for CBS Radio, FoxSports Radio and others.
Rich hosts a twice a week podcast titled “In The Dugout” along with former Big League Manager Kevin Kennedy talking MLB as well as a once a week podcast “The Southern California Baseball Report” with an in depth look at theDodgers and Angels
A national/Major Market Talk show host fans have heard Rich’s shows on Sports Fan Radio, Prime Sports, Fox Sports Radio, Sirius XM, Yahoo Sports Radio, as well as major market stations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tampa, Miami, and St Louis.
