3 Dog Thursday: Championship Week Picks and Tom Penders

It’s a special Championship Week edition of the only digital radio show devoted exclusively to Underdogs in College Hoops. Host T.J. Rives is joined by Kevin Rogers, Sr. Handicapper of Vegasinsider.com, and the guys are ready to take some Conference Tourney “dark horses.”

They will be predicting a team seeded #3 or lower to make the championship game, if not win the tournament this weekend. Who likes Iowa State in the Big XII? Who takes Michigan at the Big Ten? And who has UCF at the American tourney?

Then, legendary coach Tom Penders, who took 4 schools to the NCAA Big Dance and won 640 games is on the show. Penders talks Gonzaga upset loss and whether it cost them a #1 seed? Plus, who he likes to get the 1 seeds from the Committee. And, he tells the story of his 2010 Houston team winning 4 games in 4 days to go to the NCAA Tourney.

Next, a replay of the brief interview of Northern Kentucky coach John Brannen from Tuesday night as his team won the Horizon League and will be in the Tourney somewhere against someone on Sunday night. Finally, Kevin is back on the show with more tourney Underdog predictions.

There will be over 150 games played Thursday through Sunday and we’re ready on 3 Dog Thursday!
